About Your Guides

Kavita Patel, 500 E-RYT, RCYT

Ever since I can remember, movement has brought me joy and a place of refuge within myself. From swimming to dancing to poetic performance, I have found that movement is a way to translate the spark of our being here on earth. I formally came to my yoga practice after the birth of my first child, at a time when I felt lost and disconnected from my body. Yoga gave me back a sense of empowerment and a place of peace. Over the last 20 years of practice, I have found that yoga is so much more than asana. I believe yoga is a call to connect us not only to our essential being but ensure that all beings are free to live in peace. In the last 13 years I have taught yoga for every body. I teach children, teens, and adults. I offer an embodied alignment practice guiding my students to trust the inherent wisdom of their own body, heart and mind. I am a 500 hour E-RYT, RCYT and certified by Judith Hansen Lasater in Restorative Yoga as well as a Trauma Informed Instructor.

My yoga classes play with both finding structure and freedom in movement. I don’t take myself too seriously. I believe equally in grounded purposeful movement, wobbling, falling and soaring. Compassion, laughter and a lightness of heart guide my instruction. My hope for you is that you leave class feeling more connected to yourself and to the energy that unites us all.

Meera Dhawan, 500 E-RYT, Therapist in Training (MFT/PCC Trainee)

Meera Dhawan is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Educator (500 E-RYT), Pranayama enthusiast, and mental health therapist-in-training (MFT/PCC Traine) who seamlessly integrates Eastern wisdom in modern healing practices. As an Indian-American raised between cultures, Meera’s journey began during childhood visits to India, where she learned the power of Pranayama from her grandmother. Since then, she has trained extensively in both India and San Francisco under various teachers including her teacher Prasad Rangnekar. She has specialized training in Pranayama, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Ayurveda and is currently getting her Masters in Counseling.

Meera’s unique approach blends traditional Yoga with insights from modern mental health. She is known for her person-centered, culturally rooted teaching style, which honors each individual’s inner wisdom while considering the broader systems that impact them. Her work today includes leading a yearly certified Pranayama training (YACE) for therapists and Yoga practitioners, guiding workshops and teacher trainings on meditation and Pranayama, and working with clients one-on-one. She is passionate about making authentic Yoga accessible, advocating for a return to Yoga’s roots, and supporting others in reconnecting with themselves and nature.

Location

Blue Osa is a thoughtfully designed sanctuary where simplicity, sustainability, and serenity meet. Every detail of the space reflects a deep commitment to eco-conscious living. The entire resort is powered by 93 solar panels, uses biodegradable systems for water and waste, and sources ingredients directly from its on-site garden or nearby farms. From the absence of microwaves to the reuse of rainwater and greywater for irrigation, the experience invites you to live in rhythm with the Earth.

Communal spaces are curated to nourish stillness and connection. Spend time in the open-air yoga studio, relax in the chlorine-free lap pool, journal in a quiet garden alcove, or sway gently in a hammock as the ocean breeze moves through. Every space is intended to support inner and outer harmony.

The guest rooms are designed with organic materials and open-air layouts that bring in natural light and fresh jungle air. We have room options ranging from private suites, double occupancy, and triple occupancy shared rooms. Without distractions, you’ll sleep to the sound of waves and rise with the rhythms of nature, held by the gentle wildness all around you.

Food: Taste of the Earth

When exploring nature, we wanted to focus on selecting a venue that connected us directly to what we take in — Blue Osa does this perfectly. Meals are an extension of the land itself. Every day, three home-cooked meals will be provided, crafted with seasonal ingredients either grown on-site or sourced from nearby sustainable farms. Rooted in a farm-to-table philosophy, every dish reflects a deep respect for the Earth through practices like composting and organic gardening.

Meals are primarily vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options available. The food is wholesome and intentionally prepared to support your energy, digestion, and connection to the natural world.

Throughout the day, you’ll also have access to Blue Osa’s juice bar, offering fresh smoothies and juices made from tropical fruits, leafy greens, and healing herbs like ginger, turmeric, and coconut. These blends support energy, clarity, and gentle cleansing.

Eating here will become part of the journey of slowing down, savoring, and remembering your place in the living ecosystem around you.
