The Nature of Being

Costa Rica Peninsula, Blue Osa

7 Days, 6 Nights | April 18 - 25, 2026 | From $2,100

Return home to the nature of your essential Self by reconnecting to the elemental forces within you—Earth, Fire, Water, and Air—in the awe-inspiring sanctuary of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Restore true balance to your body, mind, and spirit.

Each day, you’ll awaken to the primal sounds of howler monkeys and tropical birds, surrounded by lush jungle and the rhythmic crash of ocean waves. At night, drift into peaceful sleep as gentle sea breezes sweep through your open windows, reminding you that you are a part of nature—not separate from it.

Our mornings will begin with grounding and energizing yoga practices led by Kavita, each themed around one of the natural elements. In the evenings, Meera will guide you through a deeply rejuvenating Restorative Yoga & pranayama with meditative practices to help you access inner stillness, clarity, peace and connection.

In between, you’ll have spacious time to simply be & explore the elements. With the safety of guided tours, connect with water through surfing, kayaking through the mangroves, or jumping into a waterfall in Matapalo. Feel the stability of Earth through a guided rainforest jungle hike or nature tours to encounter wildlife in their natural habitat. Feel the cool air as you nap in a hammock or the fire of the sun as you lie on our private beach, and enjoy unhurried moments of reflection. You’ll be completely nourished with three farm-to-table meals daily, lovingly prepared with fresh, local ingredients by our talented chefs.

Best of all, the entire eco-luxury resort will be reserved exclusively for our group, creating a safe and sacred container for deep rest and reconnection. Every detail—from the warmth of the staff to the vibrant natural surroundings—supports your return to balance.

This retreat is an invitation to restore your spirit, rejuvenate your body, and return to your life carrying the essence of Pura Vida in your heart. Release what no longer serves you and invite in the restorative energy of nature. Whether you’re seeking healing, inspiration, or simply time to breathe, this experience offers the space to reconnect with what matters most: the wisdom of your essential Self.

Realign with Nature Through Yoga

In the Upanishads, we are reminded of a core Yoga concept, yatha pinde tatha brahmande, as is the individual, so is the universe. The elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air —not only exist around us but within us. They shape our bodies, breath, thoughts, and spirit. And yet, in our modern lives, we so easily forget. We become disconnected from the intelligence of nature. Yoga is a sacred return to the truth of connection: that what surrounds us lives within us, and that our presence, too, impacts our nature. We are not separate from the Earth, we are made of it. As we remember this, we begin to move in harmony.

During this retreat, your practice will become a journey through the elements, experienced one at a time. We’ll explore different elements using our Yoga practices - Asana, Pranayama, and meditation. These practices are designed to help you embody each element and reconnect with both nature and your inner world. You will anchor into Earth to feel grounded and supported, flow with Water to awaken intuition and emotional ease, ignite Fire to activate transformation, breathe with Air to invite lightness and movement.

Whether you’re new to yoga or a lifelong practitioner, this journey invites you to listen more closely to the world within, so you can live more harmoniously with the world around you.

Exploring Elements Through Eco-guided Tours

Located between Corcovado National Park and the warm shores of the Golfo Dulce, Blue Osa sits on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. National Geographic has called it one of the most treasured ecological reserves, and it is exactly why we intentionally picked this location as a home to reconnect with nature. Just south of Puerto Jiménez, this secluded eco-luxury retreat center is immersed in one of the most vibrant and untouched ecosystems on the planet, where endangered species are protected and the earth pulses with beauty.

In addition to the resort offering a private, included beach, a pool, and plenty of spaces to lounge in, Blue Osa’s on-site team also offers a curated menu of guided eco-tours (available for an additional fee). You can pick excursions you are most interested in and relax back as the planning takes way. We selected the following activities based on the elements to help you explore the knowledge we share:

About Your Guides

Kavita Patel, 500 E-RYT, RCYT

Ever since I can remember, movement has brought me joy and a place of refuge within myself. From swimming to dancing to poetic performance, I have found that movement is a way to translate the spark of our being here on earth. I formally came to my yoga practice after the birth of my first child, at a time when I felt lost and disconnected from my body. Yoga gave me back a sense of empowerment and a place of peace. Over the last 20 years of practice, I have found that yoga is so much more than asana. I believe yoga is a call to connect us not only to our essential being but ensure that all beings are free to live in peace. In the last 13 years I have taught yoga for every body. I teach children, teens, and adults. I offer an embodied alignment practice guiding my students to trust the inherent wisdom of their own body, heart and mind. I am a 500 hour E-RYT, RCYT and certified by Judith Hansen Lasater in Restorative Yoga as well as a Trauma Informed Instructor.

My yoga classes play with both finding structure and freedom in movement. I don’t take myself too seriously. I believe equally in grounded purposeful movement, wobbling, falling and soaring. Compassion, laughter and a lightness of heart guide my instruction. My hope for you is that you leave class feeling more connected to yourself and to the energy that unites us all.

Meera Dhawan, 500 E-RYT, Therapist in Training (MFT/LPC)

Meera Dhawan is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Educator (500 E-RYT), Pranayama enthusiast, and mental health therapist-in-training (MFT/LPCC) who seamlessly integrates Eastern wisdom in modern healing practices. As a 1.5 generation Indian-American raised between cultures, Meera’s journey began during childhood visits to India, where she learned the power of Pranayama from her grandmother. Since then, she has trained extensively in both India and San Francisco under various teachers including her teacher Prasad Rangnekar. She has specialized training in Pranayama, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Ayurveda and is currently getting her Masters in Counseling.

Meera’s unique approach blends traditional Yoga with insights from modern mental health. She is known for her person-centered, culturally rooted teaching style, which honors each individual’s inner wisdom while considering the broader systems that impact them. Her work today includes leading a yearly certified Pranayama training (YACE) for therapists and Yoga practitioners, guiding workshops and teacher trainings on meditation and Pranayama, and working with clients one-on-one. She is passionate about making authentic Yoga accessible, advocating for a return to Yoga’s roots, and supporting others in reconnecting with themselves and nature.

Accommodation

Blue Osa is a thoughtfully designed sanctuary where simplicity, sustainability, and serenity meet. Every detail of the space reflects a deep commitment to eco-conscious living. From the absence of microwaves to the reuse of rainwater and greywater for irrigation, the experience invites you to live in rhythm with the Earth.

Communal spaces are curated to nourish stillness and connection. Spend time in the open-air yoga studio, relax in the chlorine-free lap pool, journal in a quiet garden alcove, or sway gently in a hammock as the ocean breeze moves through. Every space is intended to support inner and outer harmony.

The guest rooms are designed with organic materials and open-air layouts that bring in natural light and fresh jungle air. We have room options ranging from private suites, double occupancy, and triple occupancy shared rooms. Without distractions, you’ll sleep to the sound of waves and rise with the rhythms of nature, held by the gentle wildness all around you.

Food: Taste of the Earth

When exploring nature, we wanted to focus on selecting a venue that connected us directly to what we take in — Blue Osa does this perfectly. Meals are an extension of the land itself. Every day, three home-cooked meals will be provided, crafted with seasonal ingredients either grown on-site or sourced from nearby sustainable farms. Rooted in a farm-to-table philosophy, every dish reflects a deep respect for the Earth through practices like composting and organic gardening.

Meals are primarily vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options available. The food is wholesome and intentionally prepared to support your energy, digestion, and connection to the natural world.

Throughout the day, you’ll also have access to Blue Osa’s juice bar, offering fresh smoothies and juices made from tropical fruits, leafy greens, and healing herbs like ginger, turmeric, and coconut. These blends support energy, clarity, and gentle cleansing.

Eating here will become part of the journey of slowing down, savoring, and remembering your place in the living ecosystem around you.
