Why Me

Commitment to Authenticity

Too often, healers hide their pain and truth behind professional roles. I have put in a lot of work to show up as my authentic self and feel we should not need to hide from this world.

I am a first-generation immigrant who understands the unique struggles of being multicultural. In my youth, I struggled with my mental health and have navigated through traumatic events. With a background working as an Engineer and CSM, I also have first-hand experience with burnout, navigating a high-pressure work environments, and feeling unfulfilled in my career. I share from this place of authenticity to create an environment where you feel safe showing up with your truth.

Ancient Wisdom & Modern Healing

I have spent the majority of my life exploring healing modalities from both Eastern and Western wisdom. I have learned from my culture and teachers from both India and San Francisco.

I am a certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) with specialty training in restorative, Yoga and the mind, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga, and Yoga philosophy. I grew up exposed to Ayurveda and have done 40 hours of training on it.

While I have extensively studied ancient wisdom, my true knowledge has come from the embodiment of ancient wisdom, therapy, and community. As a previous NASA researcher, I recognize the importance of science-based evidence and emphasize the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern-day science.

A Holistic Approach

To work inwards, I rely on the PanchaKosha model, a framework that breaks down the layers of self. These layers include the body, what we eat, energy and breath, emotions, our belief system, and our wiser self.

Ultimately, the tools I share with clients help them get curious about their behaviors, patterns, and the world around them. This holistic approach energizes the mind, body, and soul.

Acknowledging Systems of Oppression

We cannot control everything, nor can Yoga or any one tool change systems of oppression. I acknowledge identity intersections (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, etc.) and the struggles faced due to marginalization. To address external influences that shape our reality, I incorporate the socio-ecological model, a theoretical framework that considers how our environments influence us.

Honoring the Uniqueness of You

I truly believe that yoga requires customization, as yoga has been passed down from teacher to student for thousands of years. Each individual has a unique set of challenges to conquer to find stillness. I approach clients by looking at the factors that prevent them from finding balance, whether physical, emotional, social, or spiritual. Taking into account the whole being, I align clients with customized lifestyle practices that pull from the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Yoga & Vedic Philosophy, Ayurveda, and modern science.

What Clients are Saying

Alka N,

Meera is an amazing person who does such a great job of listening, customizing a practice to your needs, and teaching with a non-judgemental lens and demeanor. She is flexible and knowledgeable, and truly cares about passing the knowledge of yoga onto her students. I also really appreciate her non-extractive approach to business and teaching-- it feels very ethical and aware, and I never once felt pressured to buy anything, never once felt like Meera offered anything other than what was best for her clients, and she also wants clients to be informed so she freely passes along knowledge without expectations of return. I think Meera would be a great coach for anyone who is looking to learn more about pranayama and yoga, and I really appreciate her openness, flexibility and truly how customizable her teaching is. I have hand and wrist pain, as well as a longer term knee injury and I really felt taken care of with Meera and felt like she gave me offerings that worked really well for my body.

Dr.Komal Y.

I was struggling with creating a morning routine for a long time. Meera helped me create an intentional and personalized routine consisting of asana, pranayama, and mantras. It has completely transformed my mornings! In addition to that she provided me with knowledge about yoga philosophy and Ayurveda in a way that was structured and easily digestible. I will be going back to her for check-in sessions to build on my knowledge and expand my routine in the future. Would recommend it for anyone trying to incorporate yoga authentically into their life.

I highly recommend Meera's TrueToYoga coaching. During our time together, Meera consistently created a welcoming environment that facilitated a deep and engaging learning experience.

Our sessions were well structured - they included a balanced mix of physical asanas, pranayama (breath regulation), meditation, and philosophical discussions. Our pranayama sessions specifically stood out to me. Meera's explanation and guidance helped me grasp the importance and power of pranayama in yoga, something I've carried into my everyday life. I noticed I am more calm and composed during stressful situations, a direct result of practicing these techniques.

As an Indian-American immigrant, I resonated with Meera's holistic approach to yoga, which is rooted in traditional Indian philosophy. It was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the yoga classes I have attended in the past and helped me feel more connected to my heritage.

Elena G.

Meera's personalized approach to yoga has been profoundly impactful. Since last fall, I've had the privilege of working with her in 1:1 sessions, and I cannot recommend her enough.

Meera's expertise extends far beyond the physical practice of yoga. She helped me navigate burnout with empathy and care, crafting a morning routine that has become an integral part of my daily life. Her knowledge of yoga philosophy and Ayurveda gave me a deeper understanding of the practices and their impact on holistic well-being.

She listened attentively to my needs, adapting our sessions to address my challenges and goals. Through her guidance, yoga has transformed into a journey of self-reflection and self-discovery for me.

I am deeply grateful for the significant impact Meera has had on my daily life. If you're looking for a teacher who will support you on your path to wellness with wisdom, compassion, and authenticity, look no further than Meera. Thank you, Meera, for your unwavering support and guidance and for generously sharing your knowledge with me.
